Roy Arthur Wood died unexpectedly on May 13, 2021. Roy was a positive force of nature who stood up for his beliefs, spoke his mind, and lifted up the lives of those he loved. He was a loyal and devoted man. Roy believed in doing the right thing, not expecting it to be an easy choice. His constant strength and loving support provided his family with a firm foundation from which to grow and flourish. Left in the wake of grief from his passing are his wife and partner of thirty three years, Terrence Elizabeth Wood, and 22 year old twins, Tyler Roy Wood and Madelyn Mae Wood, and a son from a previous marriage, Brian Louis Wood. Roy is survived by a brother, David Wood and three sisters, Donna Dumas, Debbie Johnson and Charlene Pericas and their families. Roy was preceded in death by his loving parents, Roy and Anna Wood. Roy also leaves behind many beloved brothers and sisters in arms from the U.S. military and law enforcement community. He will not be forgotten but will live on through his trademark stories, humor and love for us.
Roy's wishes are to honor his life by having a celebration in his home. His love of food and cooking and having "get togethers" was his special niche. He wants stories told of and about him to celebrate his life and our connection to him. The Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 21st, from 1-4 PM at 16518 72nd Place North, Maple Grove , MN 55311. The Celebration of Life will include a military presence and a "fallen brother" tribute from the Maple Grove Police Department. You are all asked to bring your heart and stories. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Wounded Warrior Project for disabled and wounded veterans.
