Our beloved husband and father, Stan, age 92 of Plymouth, MN passed away peacefully on January 23, 2023.
Preceded in death by parents, Wesley and Marie, and brother Gerald. Stan was raised in Belgrade, MN, enjoyed working on nearby relatives’ farms and was a multi-sport athlete, with basketball being his favorite. He served in the Air Force in CO and then finished his degree at the University of Minnesota. He worked his entire career at Midland National Bank, now Wells Fargo, in Minneapolis. Stan met Elaine through his work team member Barb, Elaine’s roommate. They married in 1959 and bought their first home in Crystal, MN. Their 2 children, Scott and Marnae were born and within a few years, they moved to their long-time home in New Hope, MN. There they made long-time friends in the neighborhood and at House of Hope Lutheran Church. Later downsizing and to enjoy other communities, they moved to a townhome and then 2 different senior apartments in Plymouth, MN. Desiring to be close to their faith community, they became members of St Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church.
Stan always enjoyed gardening and working in their yard or later in Scott’s large yards. He loved watching local sports (especially the Gophers to the very end), traveling the U.S. to visit family or see the sites, and serving the Lord through church work. His children and grandson brought him joy, especially when he was no longer able to be active. He often expressed his deep love and gratitude for the care that Elaine gave him over the past few years.
Stan is survived by his wife, Elaine; son Scott; daughter Marnae (Brad) Troxel and grandson Paul Troxel. A special thanks to Raquel and the caregivers at Amira Choice Plymouth.
Funeral service Wed Feb 1, 11:00 AM at St Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church, Plymouth. Visitation one hour prior to service.
