Lavon K. Kirscht “Bonnie Beaudot”
age 89, of Plymouth, MN, originally from Stanley, WI, passed away peacefully early on Sunday, October 2, 2022. Survived by her husband of 55 years Edward Jerome and their three children; Patrick (Kelly), Renee Kirscht-Rascher (Bill) and Kirk (Amy). Also survived by 7 grandchildren; Jacob and Ashley Rascher, McKenna and Audrey Kirscht and Lizzie, Josie and Addison Kirscht. Also survived by her two sisters, Elaine Schubert and Joan Licht and sister in-law Edna Beaudot. Preceded in death by parents Lillian (McConville) and Joseph Beaudot and three brothers; Laroy Milton and Duane; and sister Mary Jane.
Lavon was born on May 26, 1933 in Stanley, WI at her first family home. She attended a one room schoolhouse and was the only student in her class in the 8th grade. Her father and mother owned a cheese factory until 1946 and moved the family to town after her father was diagnosed with Tuberculosis.
Lavon graduated from Stanley High School in 1950 and went to vocational school taking typing and shorthand. She also attended the University of Minnesota Extension classes. She was a secretary for 15 years working mainly for the U.S. Army and General Mills. Lavon married Edward Jerome Kirscht in 1966 and stayed at home until 1981 when she went back to work at General Mills as a receptionist and security guard until she retired in 1996.
Lavon and her husband Jerome spent many exciting years attending school activities, sporting events, gymnastic meets and dance competitions of their three children while growing up in Plymouth MN. As a 49 year active member at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Wayzata, Lavon volunteered in a variety of ways and regulatory attended daily mass. All three of her children attended school and were later married at St. Bartholomew.
Lavon and her husband Jerome were blessed with a lengthy retirement together, taking several cruises and traveling with family and friends, visiting her brother’s lake home, wintering in FL and TX prior to having grandchildren, regularly taking care of her 3 eldest grandchildren when they were little, hosting countless family get togethers, being the official scorekeeper for her youngest son’s (Kirk) softball team, regularly attending daily mass and enjoying after church coffee with her friends.
Throughout her life, Lavon was a servant to God and her community, regularly volunteering through the church or various local charities. Over the years, she helped elderly women in her neighborhood to stay in their homes longer by providing home cooked meals and helping with other household tasks.
Lavon was known for many wonderful qualities such as being a great cook of healthy meals and being witty and funny as she was cracking jokes up until her final days. However, she will mostly be remembered for her devotion to her faith and her family. She was always willing to help her children out, whether it be taking care a of sick grandchild at the last minute or typing up a college paper during the wee hours of the morning. She made every decision with putting her family first.
The Family would like to thank the dedicated and caring staff at Amira Choice in Plymouth and Moments Hospice team for providing wonderful and loving care during her final days.
A visitation will be held 10am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11am on Friday October 7, 2022 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 630 E. Wayzata Blvd. Wayzata, MN 55391. Following the mass, a luncheon will be held in the church’s cafeteria. A processional to the burial ceremony at Parker’s Lake Cemetery will be held after the luncheon. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to Interfaith Outreach (iocp.org) where Lavon volunteered for many years.
