William Charles Young

William Charles Young was b orn October 9, 1946 in Kearney, NE; passed away on February 15, 2016 at home in Golden Valley at age 69.

Survived by wife, Mary; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Richard Hofschulte; son, Christopher Young; grandson, Russel “William” Ehlert; half-sister, Linda Griffin and her husband Joe. Preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Margaret Young.

Bill served as a Navigator on the USS Fletcher in the Navy during Vietnam and was discharged in November of 1971 as Lieutenant. He went on to attend the University of Illinois – Champaign-Urbana, graduating with degrees in advertising and business marketing. Bill was a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and held NASD Security licenses. He also was past President of the Wisconsin Alpha Tao Omega Alumni Chapter and was appointed to the Minnesota House of Representatives Task Force on Personal Income Tax Legislation Policy. Bill used his excellent leadership and organizational skills in his numerous church callings.

Bill was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill’s memory are preferred to Disabled American Vets of Minnesota.
