William “Bill” Halvorson, age 79 of Plymouth passed away May 19 after a long battle with various health issues. Bill and Anna Hemmingsen were married at Valley of Peace Lutheran Church; Golden Valley July 14, 1973. Bill was a successful material handling salesman…thoroughly enjoying his long career in sales. He so enjoyed people – spending time visiting with relatives and friends. His graciousness followed throughout his personal and business life to the last. Expressing his love and devotion to his beloved “Ann” and his appreciation to his hospice caregivers for everything that was done for him until the end.
Fall was his favorite season…hunting and football. A favorite pastime of Bill’s was cooking and baking. In his very early years, he attended Dunwoody…becoming a cake decorator. He was awarded several prizes for his cake decorating.
Survived by his loving wife, Anna. In addition to his wife, “Ann”, Bill is survived by cousins, Jim (JoAnn) and Tom (Kathy); brother-in-law, Spence; nieces, Stacey (Gregg) and Shelley (Todd); grand-nephews, Chase, Carter, and Matthew; grand-niece, Elysabeth.
Predeceased by his mother, Ethel Fosnaugh and his stepfather, Alfred Halvorson; brother, Bobby Halvorson; maternal grandparents, Otto and Helen Swanson; his in-laws, Norman and Dorothy Thompson.
If desired, memorials may be given to Valley of Peace Lutheran Church or to the donor’s preference.
Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, June 26 at Valley of Peace Lutheran Church, 4735 Bassett Creek Drive; Golden Valley. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
Masks will be required within the church.
