Bill was born on June 22, 1930 in St Paul, Minnesota and graduated from Marshall High School before joining the US Army Air Corps. He was a career military man, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion (Forest Lake, MN Post 225) and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (Columbia, SC Post 641), serving as Commander in both organizations. He was also involved with the Knights of Columbus and was Grand Knight of Council 397 in St. Paul.
Bill and Dar loved to travel and would set off for weeks at a time in their motorhome, sometimes picking up children or grandchildren to travel with them. They also spent many winters in Mazatlán, Mexico with family and friends.
Bill will be remembered for his love of family, country, his dog Sassy, and everything Irish. True to his Irish roots, he will also be remembered for his ability to spin a tale laced with Blarney.
Our thanks to the great staff at Brightondale Assisted Living in New Brighton, as well as the wonderfully caring nursing team at Ecumen Parmly in Chisago.
Mass and interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
