Warren Howard Anderson

Warren was born on June 9, 1924 to George and Bertha “Byrdie” Anderson, and was raised in North Minneapolis.  After graduating from Patrick Henry in 1943, he enlisted and served in the United States Navy.  Following his honorable discharge he returned home.  He was first introduced to Donna Wagner on a blind date, and on December 28, 1951 they were married.  They started their family in Golden Valley, later moving to Maple Grove where they raised four children.

Warren believed in hard work and community service.  He spent 35 years in sales with Duffey Paper Company.  He was a past Maple Grove councilman, charter and life member of Maple Grove Lions and was an active leader with several youth and civic organizations.  He loved his family, and the memories made with their travels and many activities, their home in the woods and especially their family time at the lake.  His wealth were the friendships established during his lifetime, where he was affectionately known as “Ace”.  He enjoyed sports, but his passion was golf.  In retirement they enjoyed traveling and the winters spent in the warm climate.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Donna; Sue (Royce) Johnson, Jane (Mike) Rogers, Bob (Holly) Anderson and Kari (Mick) Rathjens; grandchildren, Dana (Kenny), Nicholas, Bryan, Paul, Kiana, Kyle and Onalee; great-grandchildren, Allie and Tess; brother, Douglas (Lois) Anderson; sister, Marlys Ogle; several nieces, nephews and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, George, and grandchild, David Rogers.

Warren will be remembered for many things, most notably for instilling in his family a sense of hard work, honesty, integrity, generosity, courage, and community.
