Violet A. Sandgren

Violet A. Sandgren, 98, of Maple Grove, formerly of Robbinsdale, passed away Friday, December 29, 2023.

Violet was born May 20, 1925, on a farm in rural Sisseton, South Dakota, and was the youngest of nine children. She graduated from Mechanic Arts High School in St. Paul. After marrying her husband Robert ("Bud") in 1944, they made their home in Robbinsdale, where they raised two daughters. Violet had many hobbies and was a great collector of antiques. She had a particular fondness for garage sales, refinishing furniture, reading autobiographies, and spending time up at the lake cabin in Northern Minnesota. She cherished time with her family and took pride in passing along her traditions.

Preceded in death by husband Robert, parents Gustav and Bertha Polnau, and eight siblings.

She is survived by daughters, Roberta and Margaret; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Memorial service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at Elim Lutheran Church, 40th and W. Broadway, Robbinsdale. Visitation one hour prior to service.

Private interment at Glen Haven.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Elim Lutheran Church.
