Theodore W. Schroeder
Age 81 of Maple Grove, passed away February 9, 2021. Theodore is survived by loving wife of 56 years, Ellen; daughter, Kristen (Bill) Hochmuth; son, Ted (Shannon); daughter, Naomi Bretz; grandchildren, Jamie, Katie, Anna, Kyla and Justin; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law and 1 sister. He was preceded in death by parents, Theodore and Verna Schroeder and brother, Alan.
Ted was loved dearly by his family who cherished his engaging stories, insightful guidance, and warm heart. As a Lutheran pastor, writer, and editor for both the LCMS and ELCA, his words of wisdom and encouragement touched many. He was an avid fisher, music lover, and Civil War enthusiast, and could often be found enjoying life’s small beauties and studying history’s biggest lessons to find the inspiration for the next allegorical story that made his works so memorable. He will always be remembered for offering everything he could to any who needed it, modeling the work of a servant of God to all those around him.
While we will miss him here on this earth, we know his spirit is now at peace with his Father in Heaven.
A private memorial service will be held at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Plymouth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Trinity First Lutheran School of Minneapolis, MN at www.trinityfirstschool.org
