Susan F. Nelson

MEMORIAL SERVICE for Susan F. Nelson, age 78, of Golden Valley, will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Brookview Community Center, 316 Brookview Parkway South, Golden Valley, MN 55427.

Born April 17, 1945, Susan was the youngest of five children of Florence and Vernerd Nelson.  She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Dorothy Hein, Nancy Link and Vernerd Arthur Nelson.  Survivors include sister, Carolyn Rask, Golden Valley; nieces & nephews,  Julia Rask, Los Angeles, Mark Rask, Golden Valley, Christine Hein (Jim Warren), Edward Hein (Sue), Zimmerman, Susan Morgan (Russ), Dayton, OH, Eric Nelson, Fremont, IN, Kirsten Butler, Samo, MO and many cherished friends.

Devoted to family throughout her life, she was celebrated with a gala “Aunt Susan’s Day” hosted by her nieces and nephews.  They honored her with a variety show, featuring songs and skits to show their love and appreciation for her.

Susan attended school in Robbinsdale, MN graduating from Robbinsdale High School in 1963.  Following graduation from the Minnesota School of Business she worked for several firms, including IDS, Pillsbury and General Mills.  She served as Executive Assistant to senior management, retiring from General Mills in 2012.
