Shirley Ann Therese Gill was born on January 29, 1937 in Albany, Minnesota. She told so many stories about life on the farm; her Daddy calling her “Susie” when it was time to do chores, her Mom’s huge garden and spotless household, the fun times with her 5 siblings. She married the love of her life, Anselm Hondl, on June 27, 1959. Together they created a beautiful life in Brooklyn Park raising 5 rambunctious, free spirited children, in a home full of laughs & love. Mom spent her life serving others, from caring for her sister Elaine, to working with disabled children, to volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House. She was always giving of her time & talents. She was extremely talented with flowers and made gorgeous bouquets & arrangements for countless weddings. She spent her retirement gardening with Anselm & volunteering at St. Raphael’s Church. She loved her family with everything she had, almost as much as she loved her Diet Coke. Mom, we will miss you more than words can say. We are so lucky to have been raised by such a strong, loving woman. We are so happy that you are at peace & finally home.
Sue, Barb, Tim, Jo & Amy.
