Sharon passed away June 8, 2021 at age 85. She grew up in the St. Anthony Park neighborhood of St Paul and graduated from Murray High School and the University of Minnesota. Sharon worked as a medical technician at the University of Minnesota, where she met her loving husband Robert. They were longtime residents of Plymouth where they raised her three children.
Beyond anything else, Sharon loved her family and friends. She was devoted, caring and selfless, always putting others before herself and never complaining, even when her ailing health was causing severe pain and discomfort. Her children remember how Sharon never missed their sporting events or musical recitals, and nothing brought her more joy than her seven grandchildren who adored her. Sharon would strike up a conversation with anyone, making friends wherever she went. And she loved watching Twins games.
Preceded in death by Robert, her husband of 50 years and mother, Irene Gemmill. She is loved and will be deeply missed by her children, Julianne Kaster, Anthony (Amy Miller) Kaster and Christopher (Deborah) Kaster and her seven grandchildren Fiona, Gillian, Grace, Noah, Sydney, Avery and Taylor, and by many other family members and friends whose lives she touched.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 am Saturday, June 12 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 155 County Road 24 in Medina. Visitation one hour prior to Mass at church. Interment Holy Name Cemetery. Memorials to the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation's Valve Science Center.
