Saverio Mario Caligiuri, 80, from St Michael, MN, passed away with his family by his side on June 4th 2022. Saverio was born July 26th 1941 in Settingiano, Italy and immigrated to Minnesota in 1969. He was a long time employee of The Minneapolis Star Tribune for 32 years. Anyone who knew Saverio, knows how much he loved relaxing by a lake fishing or meticulously (neurotically) pruning his yard and garden. He also enjoyed watching wrestling, woodworking, playing his harmonica & accordion and talking about his grandchildren and great grandchildren. We’re all going to miss his animated storytelling and the many stories he had to share. His grandchildren will miss their fishing buddy and will be sure to pass on all the fishing techniques and stories he had taught them. We know he will be spending eternity fishing, hunting, gardening and watching over his family that he loved and protected fiercely. Survived by his loving wife Inez of 52 years, Son Frank (Kristin), Daughter Maria Pass (Louis), honorary daughter Diana Blair (Jack), grandchildren Tony (Santina), Jesyka (Brady), Makayla (Nick), Joey, Madilynn (Dylan) and Kourtney. Great Grandchildren Talon, Adryanna, Brantley and Blake. Sisters Rosina Munizza, Pina Longhammer, Rita Vento (Amadeo Tricoli), Brother Mario Caligiuri and including many cousins, nephews, nieces and his buddy Cricket (dog).
Preceded in death by his parents Francisco and Grazia Caligiuri, father-in-law and mother-in-law Tony and Anna Benincasa, brothers Tony and Martin Caligiuri, Brother-in-laws Tony Benincasa, Martino Munizza and Tony Longhammer, great granddaughter Jordan Wickham, nieces Concetta Munizza and Alex Rose Benincasa and nephew Jacob Jones.
