Sandra Tenney

Sandra F. Tenney, age 73, born February 28, 1943 in Mpls. and passed away February 6, 2017 in Apple Valley.   She was active in her church, was frequently called “Mama Sandy” by her church friends, and was the greeter and official JCC Hugger. While Mama Sandy may not have had children of her own, her love for the people at church created a very large family.  Sandy fondly referred to David Kawino as her #1 son, followed by Musyoka Kalio as her #2 son and Magdeline Ndiku as her #1 daughter amongst so many others. We honor her generosity and compassion for the poor - she has literally touched lives all over the world. Preceded in death by mother, Elsie (O’Bleness) Tenney; parents, Howard V. and Harriet P. (Hughes) Tenney; sisters, Marion Law and Bernice "Bunny" VonWald. Survived by siblings, John (Lynn) and Leanne (Michael) Cox; several nieces and nephews; grand nieces and nephews; special friend, Terri Olson; and other church friends.

Visitation 1/2 hour before the service. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
