CAPT Samuel Terry Goad, USN (RET) age 97 of Plymouth was called home on August 5, 2018. Preceded in death by beloved wife Rose, parents, five siblings, son Dr Robert Goad and son-in-law Dr Robert Brandenburg. As a patrol bomber pilot, he commanded detachments during WWII on Midway and Johnson Islands and took part in the action at Tinian. He also served in the Korean War. Captain Goad joined the Naval Air Reserve in 1946. He later had command of nearly 1400 reserve forces training at the Naval Air Station Twin Cities. In civilian life as an agronomist he managed the Farm Products Merchandising Division of Northrup King and Co. Survived by daughters Carolyn R Goad and Maryann Merideth (Dr John): son John Goad (Jean): daughter-in-law Carolyn W Goad and 9 grandchildren. Sam was an officer and a gentleman. Graveside Service with military honors will be held 11:30 am Wednesday, August 15 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery (Meet at Assembly Area #2 by 11:00 am).
