Ryan William Engelstad

Ryan William Engelstad, 38, was born July 1, 1982 in Duluth, Minnesota, and it is with deep sorrow that we announce that our beloved son, brother, family member and friend has passed away.

Ryan graduated from Vianney High School in St. Louis, Missouri in 2001 and later attended the University of Missouri St. Louis. He was a tender-hearted person who was always willing to help others in need. Ryan worked as an aftercare recovery counselor where he helped people who were recovering from substance abuse. In his spare time, he had a passion for music and enjoyed playing bass guitar in numerous bands. He also enjoyed using his creativity cooking in the kitchen. Ryan was also an avid outdoorsman and loved walking, hiking, and fishing, along with trips to the gulf coast. His kind heart also drew him to be an animal lover.

Ryan is preceded in death by his grandfathers, William Windsor and Conrad Engelstad and grandmother, Helen Engelstad. He leaves this world survived by his parents, Gaylen and Kimberly (Windsor) Engelstand, brother, Derek Engelstad, grandmother, aunts, uncles, nephews, niece, numerous cousins, and a host of loving friends.

We are comforted knowing that Ryan is with his Lord and Savior, Jesus and is in the presence of His love, peace, and joy. A private celebration of Ryan's life will be held for family.
