Ruth Christine,
of Golden Valley passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 at Colonial Acres Nursing Home.
Ruth Christine was born on July 11, 1921 in Proctor, MN. She graduated from Meadowlands High School, attended Hibbing Junior College and then graduated with a degree in Library Science from the University of Minnesota. She spent most of her career in the Minneapolis Library System and retired as Chief of Community Libraries after 41 years of service.
Ruth Christine, born of Norwegian parents, embraced her Norwegian Heritage and often included Norway in her world travels. She was an active member of Mindekirken for many years, a Bronze Kroneklubben donor at Vesterheim Museum, and an active supporter of the arts. She had a wide circle of friends of all ages and enjoyed bringing people together. Her engaging spirit and sparkling blue eyes will be missed.
Ruth Christine’s body was laid to rest on March 7, 2017 at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
A memorial service and reception will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 2:00-4:30 pm in Fellowship Center at Covenant Village, 5800 St. Croix Ave. North, Golden Valley, MN 55422.
The service will begin at 2:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
