Rosella M Seiwert

Born in 1924 in Kent, MN to Robert and Rose Boardman, Rosella and her six siblings grew up in Barnsville, MN.  A graduate of North Dakota State University (formerly the Agriculture College), Rosella taught school in a one-room school house in Durbin, ND.  She would marry Leo Seiwert, the oldest brother of two of her students, and eventually move to St.Louis Park, MN where she and Leo resided for the rest of their lives and raised three children, Mary, Margaret and Michael.

A life-long member of Most Holy Trinity Church, Rosella was a busy volunteer. Many parishioners received her baby blankets, dish cloths and prayer shawls.  And, her brownies were in demand at every funeral for over 50 years.  She cooked for the priests, sewed for the nuns and rarely missed daily Mass.

Rosella loved to golf, to travel and to entertain.  The life of every party, she had the gift of gab and an infectious laugh. She was an active senior who lived in her own home, drove her car and golfed until the age of 95. She recently moved to Assisted Living at The Glenn in Hopkins.

She is preceded in death by her husband Leo, son Michael and great-granddaughter Amelia, as well as brothers George, Ken and Frank.

So many great memories and stories of Rosella will be shared by daughters Mary (John), Margaret, daughter-in-law Maureen, and her eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, as well as her brothers Perry and Wally and sister Patricia.

A Celebration of Rosella’s life will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Minneapolis
