Rosalind R. Anderson

Rosalind R. Anderson, 93, of Minnetonka, MN, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Haven Homes in Maple Plain, MN.

Rosalind was born in Braham, MN, on July 8, 1929.  She was the daughter of Beauford and Imogene Johnson.

On August 2, 1958, she married Lloyd J. Anderson of Cook, MN.  Rosalind was a graduate of Braham High School and St. Cloud State, graduating in Elementary Education.

She was an elementary teacher for 14 years, teaching in Canby, MN, St. Louis Park, MN, and L’Anse, MI.  She continued her interest in teaching in numerous ways over the years.  These included helping to organize the Superior Community Nursery School in L’Anse and becoming its first teacher, volunteering for Adult Literacy, leading Girl Scout Brownies, Cub Scouts and AWANA, teaching Sunday School, being a VBS leader and summer church camp counselor.  A highlight she often spoke of was teaching summer school in the mid 1950s along the Yukon River in Alaska.

Rosalind was a member of Wayzata Free Church and enjoyed helping in several different ministries there.  The Ambassadors Sunday School class was especially dear to her.

She was a wonderful and beloved mother, grandmother, relative and friend to many. She enjoyed traveling and was known for her cheerful spirit, gift of hospitality and love of cooking and baking, especially when she could entertain or share with others.

Rosalind was loved and will be deeply missed by her daughter Beth (Brian); son Brent; grandchildren Liam, Annika, Teagan, Kayli, Hannah; sisters Marlene, Marlys (Robert); brothers Wayne (Ann), Warren; brother-in-law David; and many other close relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd; infant son Timothy; infant grandson Jacob; parents Beauford and Imogene; stepmother Helen; sister Doris; sisters-in-law Margaret, Irene, Janice, Anita; brothers-in-law David E., Peter, Paul S., Wallace, Vern, David N., Paul A.; and several other very special relatives.

There will be a Celebration of Rosalind’s life on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Wayzata Free Church, 705 County Road 101 N, Plymouth, MN.  Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, prior to the service.  Interment will be at West Rock Cemetery, Rock Creek, MN.  The service will be livestreamed at:

Memorials may be directed to Wayzata Free Church and designated for the Faith Community Nurse Ministry, who shared special visits with Rosalind in recent months.  Memorial gifts may also be directed to Samaritan’s Purse, designated for Operation Christmas Child, a ministry she participated in with her grandchildren from a very young age.
