Ronald Matthew Munn, 80, passed away on December 6th, 2022 in Park Rapids, MN with family by his side.  He was born on June 27, 1942, the second of twelve brothers and sisters. He was an avid ball player growing up. He enjoyed baseball, football, and basketball, making all-state in basketball in 1960 for St. Michael. During those years he helped with the family business packaging Cootie games for W.H. Schaper Mfg. at their home in Robbinsdale.  He met his wife Lori while in the army stationed in Miami, FL. They married October 8, 1966 and when he was discharged, they settled in Robbinsdale near his parents to start their lives together. He went to work for MN&S railroad, where he worked until he retired. They had four boys and their house was a busy one. When the boys were young, he continued playing softball, and as they grew older, coached their pee wee football teams. When his knees gave out, he turned to umpiring local softball leagues.
When he retired, they moved up to First Crow Wing lake. There he was able to concentrate full time on two other lifelong passions, fishing and hunting. They enjoyed their time together until Lori passed in 2010. Since then he busied himself with family and being outdoors.  He absolutely loved his family, especially his grandkids. Actually all kids. Through the years as Lori did home daycare, he would come home from work and spend time with all the kids. They all loved him.

If he could have chosen his final words, all who knew him know they would have been ‘Yeah Baby!’

He is survived by his four sons, Douglas (Kristen), Jeffrey (Cindy), Michael (Laura), Robert (Christine), grandchildren Garyn (Caitlin), Cody (Gabrielle), Kaycee (David), Lauren, Chase, Paris, Riley, Evelyn, Greyson, and great-grandchildren Scarlyt, Olyver, and Brystol, as well as his brothers Ken, Tim, Joe, and Charlie and sisters Margaret, Jean, MaryJo, Teresa, and Karen, along with many many nieces, nephews, and too many friends to count.

A viewing will take place at Gearty-Delmore Funeral home in Robbinsdale from 4-7 pm with prayer service 6 pm on Tuesday, December 13th. The burial service will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at St Patrick’s Cemetery in Maple Grove.  A celebration of life will be held the afternoon of June 24, 2022 at Bassett Creek Park in Crystal.
