Kerg, Ronald W., age 94 of St. Louis Park passed away peacefully Jan. 14th, 2018 surrounded by his family.
He is survived by loving wife of 68 years, Marian; daughters, Judith (Ralph) Hart and Debbie Kerg; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Chris and Alma Kerg.
Ronald was born in Elmwood, WI and later moved with his parents to Red Wing, MN. Ronald joined the US Army and served as a medic with the 3rd Division in Central Europe. He was stationed at Southampton, England; Straubing, Germany; and Plzen, Czechoslovakia from December 1944 to April 1946 during WWII. Following his honorable discharge, Ronald was employed at Ford Motor Co. in St. Paul, MN for 35 years. He returned to Ford Motor after retirement to conduct tours of the facility.
Ronald met Marian roller skating. He often said she was the girl he most wanted to skate with and was so grateful they met, loved and cared for each other. They were married in Red Wing, MN at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in August, 1949.
Ronald was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 7051, a longtime member of the Ritual Team, American Legion Post 0320 and Knights of Columbus 3949. Ronald’s laugh was special, and it was recognized by all that knew him. Ronald was brought into this world to brighten our days, enrich our lives, share his gift of laughter, and touch all of us in his very special way. May he always be remembered as a kind and caring man whose good life brought joy and comfort to those who knew and loved him.
Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday (1/24), 10:30 AM with visitation one hour prior at the Church of the Holy Family, 5900 W. Lake St., St. Louis Park. Private interment Ft. Snelling. Memorials preferred to the Mayo Clinic, Rochester (cardiovascular research) or STEP (St. Louis Park Emergency Program).
