age 79, of Loretto, Minnesota went into the loving arms of the Lord on Monday, October 1, 2018. He was born in Newfolden, MN on January 8, 1939, to Clarence and Myrtle Jorgenson.

Ron was the beloved patriarch of a very large family.  Ron loved learning, teaching and was a great bestower of wisdom.  Ron loved hunting in Alexandra, MN, fishing on Mille Lacs  Lake, camping in WI, inventing in his shop, and was a huge NASCAR fan.  Ron’s greatest legacy, besides his family, was the company that he founded with his brother, Clyde.  In 1972, the brothers developed a gypsum-based flooring underlayment...and subsequently began the gypsum underlayment industry. In 1976 they officially named the product Gyp-Crete and incorporated the Gyp-Crete Corporation.  The Jorgenson brothers dedicated themselves to the growth and success of their company and the company flourished.  In 1995 Gyp-Crete Corporation became Maxxon Corporation. The Maxxon Corporation continues to be the leader in the flooring underlayment and sound control industry.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Myrtle Jorgenson, step-mother Ruby Jorgenson, brother Clyde Jorgenson, grandson Christopher Jorgenson, daughter-in-law, Sheila Jorgenson, and brother-in-law, Lawrence Nystul. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Perkerewicz Jorgenson.  He is survived by his children: John (Teresa) Jorgenson of Port Orange, FL; James Jorgenson of Plymouth, MN; Kenneth (Shelly) Jorgenson of South Haven, MN; Donna (Gary) Trost of St. Michael, MN; Wayne Jorgenson (and special friend Wendy Edberg) of Corcoran, MN; Darryl (Lisa) Jorgenson of Otsego, MN; Timothy (Shannon) Jorgenson of Hermantown, MN; as well as twenty grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.  He is further survived by his siblings: Janet Collins of Hugo, MN; Karen (Lowell) Efterfield of Wyoming, MN; Marilyn (Kenneth) Deschene of Wisconsin Dells, WI; Linda (Chris) Davis of Hugo, MN. Also survived by sister-in-law Catherine Nystul and Nephew Larry Nystul (his right hand man) and many other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Home, 15800 37 th Avenue North, Plymouth, MN 55446 on Friday, October 5 , 2018 from 4-7pm.   Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 145 Railway Street East, Loretto, MN 55357, with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Interment Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.  A luncheon to celebrate Ron's life will be held after the service at the Medina Entertainment Center, 500 Highway 55, Medina, MN 55340.
