Worden, Rolfe Allan

Rolfe Allan Worden, of Golden Valley, age 78, passed away on February 28, 2018 after a long illness. Rolfe was born on December 29, 1939, in South Bend, Indiana. After graduating from South Bend Central High School, he attended the University of Michigan, majoring in Political Science. After college, he went on to attend the University of Michigan Law School, where he also served as the Assistant Editor of the Law Review. He earned his J.D. with Distinction in 1964, and moved to Minneapolis to begin his law practice with the Popham, Haik law firm. Later in his career, Rolfe also served as an Adjunct Faculty member at the Opus College of Business at the University of St. Thomas, teaching a popular “New Venture Law” class. Rolfe took special pride in counseling young entrepreneurs in their legal matters, and took great happiness in their success. Rolfe was also selected as a “SuperLawyer” in his practice area of Commercial Real Estate.

Rolfe was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and rarely missed his grandchildren’s school activities. He is survived by Kathy, his wife of 51 years; sons Kevin (Tina) of Kasson, Minnesota, Brian (Pam) of Lakeville, grandchildren Daniel, Andy, James, Maddy, and Grace; and sister, Carole (Roger) Zimmerman of Kensington, Maryland.

The Worden family wishes to thank Rolfe’s former employer, Hinshaw and Culbertson; as well as Sunrise Senior Living of Golden Valley and Brighton Hospice Services for their love, care, and support during the time of Rolfe’s illness.

Visitation Monday (3/5), 5-8 PM at Gearty-Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel, 3888 W. Broadway.  Memorial service Tuesday (3/6), 11 AM with visitation starting at 10 AM at the funeral home.

Memorials are preferred to the Volunteer Lawyers Network, Rochester Area Habitat for Humanity, or the Innocence Project.
