Reed, Rochelle (Shellie) Dahlen

Age 78, of Plymouth, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020. Preceded in death by parents, Stanton and Victoria Dahlen; sister, Jeanne (Brian) Lewis; and husband, David. Survived by husband, Don Bottemiller; son, Paul (Rebecca) Reed; daughter, Paige (Jason) Sawyer; grandchildren, Amanda Reed, Ryan and Marla Sawyer; sister, Rosemary (Frank) Welsh; many other relatives and friends.

Shellie was born and raised in Thief River Falls, MN, and graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College. She taught Spanish and Art for many years in the Anoka-Hennepin School District and through the Continuing Education Center of the Hennepin Vocational Technical Schools. Later in her career, she became a registered investment advisor and estate planner, and also taught personal financial skills at the Minnesota Life College. She was active with the ELCA Board of Pensions, Gustavus Adolphus College Association of Congregations, the Metropolitan Senior Federation, the Institute of Certified Financial Planners, and the Financial Professionals Association. Shellie was a lifelong learner, avid reader, travel enthusiast, and she cherished her summer weekends at Lake Carlos in Alexandria, MN.

A special thank you to the caring staff at SummerWood of Plymouth and Optage Hospice.

A private funeral service will be held at St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church, with interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Memorials preferred to Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church and The Alzheimer’s Association.
