Beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather passed away peacefully at
N. C. Little Hospice on May 21, 2022, at age 91.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Frank Kasbohm and
His brother Donald Kasbohm. Survived by his brother Tom Kasbohm.
He will be missed by his wife, Donna, and his nine children: Brian (Chris),
Jeffrey, Tony, Michael (Jenny), Julie (Dave), Bob (Sally), Carol, Charles (Lori),
and Kristen (Pete) as well as sixteen grandchildren: Brianna;
Kyle and Grace; Zachary, Allie and Charlie; Taylor and Megan; Justin, Brooke,
Matthew and Christopher; Ben, Jacob, Aubrey, and Peter; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was born March 22, 1931 in Chicago, IL. He moved to Minneapolis and attended De LaSalle High School lettering in three sports. After graduating he served in the Navy for four years as a Quartermaster 3 aboard the USS McDermut during the Korean War. When he returned from service, he attended the College of St. Thomas where he met and fell deeply in love with Donna, his wife of 65 years. He lettered in his favorite sports and graduated with a BA in Business Administration. He attended the University of Minnesota’s Premedical Program and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a MA in Public Health.
Bob did his residency at Miller Hospital in St. Paul, MN then a move to Rochester, NY where he was hired as the Hospital Administrator at Strong Memorial Hospital. A move back to St. Paul and a position as Assistant Administrator at Miller Hospital followed. A few years later Bob was hired at Booz, Allen and Hamilton as a management consultant and the family moved to Northbrook, Illinois. The next adventure came in the form of a new job with Hamilton Associates where Bob focused on merging several hospitals into what became the Carondelet Hospital System. This entailed another move where the family finally settled in Edina, Minnesota. The final career stop was with Right Associates in Minneapolis where Bob was proud to have worked with numerous corporate executives who had lost their jobs. He was proud of being a part of getting those folks back to new careers.
Throughout his life, Bob shared his wonderful baritone voice with many parishes and was part of the music ministry at Pax Christi. In retirement he especially enjoyed spending time with Donna and their grandchildren, building a deck on the family home where he spent countless hours taking in the outdoor beauty, gardening, reading and working his daily crossword puzzle.
Bob will be remembered for his passion, wisdom, gentle spirit and contagious smile.
