Robert Ferguson Devening

Robert F. Devening, age 79 of Crystal, passed away September 10.

Survived by wife RoseAnn Devening; sons Mark Alan (Tammy); Robert F. II “Rob” (Tabitha); grandsons Colton and Wyatt; granddaughter Kylee Rose; brothers Bill (Pat), Paul (wives Mary and Carol), & Jim (Bev); nieces and nephews.

Bob was born June 24, 1941 in Kane, Illinois, the youngest of four sons of Clifton W. and Annabelle Ferguson Devening. He graduated in 1960 from the Jersey Community High School in Jerseyville, Ill. He graduated from the American Floral Art School, Chicago, Ill. He returned to Jerseyville and helped establish the Jerseyville Flower Shop. He was drafted in the U.S. Army and served in the Chaplain Assistance Corps. in Germany. Upon discharge, he moved to Minneapolis where he met and married RoseAnn A. Jackson. Bob and RoseAnn opened the Crystal Rose-Bo’ Floral Shop on Bass Lake Rd. in 1984. Son Mark Alan worked with them for 24 years. Bob retired in the last part of 2015 after serving the community for many years.

Visitation Thursday, September 17, 4-6 PM with 6 PM funeral service at Gearty-Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel, 3888 W. Broadway.
