Robert “Bob" Braun
age 86 of Maple Grove, passed away peacefully the afternoon of January 16th at his home surrounded by his wife, Karen and Son, Chris. Bob lived in the community of 4 Seasons at Rush Creek where he received both love and support.

Bob graduated from Virginia High School and served his country in the US Air Force. He enjoyed his tour of Duty especially since he was on the basketball team. He attended Brown Institute of Broadcasting and spent 5 years as a broadcaster in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. He was employed by Schneiderman’s Furniture in Meadowlands, MN, retiring after 40 years. He loved high school sports, especially the Toivola-Meadowlands Rockets, where he lived and proudly watched his sons play. His school board position of many years gave him the opportunity to hand his sons their diplomas.

Bob was very active throughout his life. He loved and tormented his golf buddies, both male and female and he always challenged his poker friends. He loved reading at Lord of Life church whether it was assisting with the scripture readings during services or the book sessions with the little ones in the preschool. The Vikings, his obsession and depression, came through for him in his last days. Bob started a little league in his young years and a coffee club in his senior years. His humor and quick wit are notable.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jeffrey Alan and his mother, Madeline Braun.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Karen; son, Christopher (Ramona); grandchildren, Markus, Mara, Travis, Kyle and Eric; daughter-in-law, MaryBeth; cousins, Judy (Larry) Kane, Pat (Rosie), Kenneth Jr. (Pat) Harrington.

A special thank you to the ICU staff at Maple Grove, North Memorial Hospital, the J. A. Wedum Hospice for their comfort care, and Pastors Peter and Karen from Lord of Life for their spiritual guidance, love and care.

Please join the family in a Celebration of Bob’s Life at Lord of Life Church, 7401 county Road 101, Maple Grove on Thursday, January 25th at 11 AM. Visitation will begin at 10 AM.
