Richard L. Mueller

Richard L. Mueller, age 81 of Maple Grove, Minnesota, passed away peacefully November 27 ^th , 2021 surrounded in love by his family.

Rich was born October 28 ^th , 1940 in Joliet, Illinois.

He married Sandra Mentch in 1965. They lived in Joliet, Illinois and the St. Louis and Kansas City, Missouri areas before finally settling in Maple Grove Minnesota for over 52 years.

Rich worked in the computer field all his life- first at the Argonne National Laboratory, and then the Control Data Corporation (a Minnesota company) for over 20 years. He then taught at a local technical college, and ended his career as a sales representative for a software company. Rich valued education, and found time to get degrees in chemistry, mathematics, and his doctorate in computer science during his working years! Rich was also a charter member and paid-on-call firefighter for the City of Maple Grove for over 25 years. Rich enjoyed spending time with his family, and he loved attending all of his grandchildrens' activities. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed taking big family vacations. Rich also enjoyed listening to polka music, solving sudoku puzzles, mowing his lawn, and working on computer projects. Although he lived in Minnesota Viking's territory, he remained loyal to his beloved Green Bay Packers!

Rich is preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Sandra; son, Rich Jr.; parents, Walter and Catherine; brothers, Walter Jr. and Robert; and nephew, Daniel Mueller.

He is survived by his cherished daughters, Suzanne (Rob) Borsch and JoAnne Olson; 10 beautiful grandchildren- Jeff (Lauren), Rachel (Alex) Lorendo & Ryan Mueller; Alyssa, Tyler, Nathan & Jordyn Borsch; Alec (Bailey), Brandon & Claire Olson; and one great-granddaughter, Emelia Lorendo; his brothers and sisters, Maureen (late Walter) Mueller, Gerald (Karen) Mueller, Rosemary (late Robert) Mueller, Marilyn (Anthony) Granich, William (Kathleen) Mueller, Catherine (Jack) Leetham, James (Nancy) Mueller, Raymond (Susan) Mueller, Mike (Janice) Mueller, Judith (Jerry) Olson, Ronald (Carol) Mueller, and Margaret (Todd) Doom. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and many good friends.

Visitation on Saturday, December 4 ^th 2021 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 7180 Hemlock Ln N, Maple Grove, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. A livestream of the service will be available at: https://youtu.be/UQRD8g5GIc4 .
