Richard Jack Jordan, age 90 of Crystal, died unexpectedly on Monday, September 20th. Richard grew up in South Minneapolis and worked at his father’s business, Ray Jordan and Sons Landscaping, with his four brothers. Richard became the President of the business and worked all over the state of Minnesota and in almost every part of the Minneapolis and St Paul area. Ray Jordan and Sons is now the oldest sod company in Minnesota and is still in operation today.
Richard enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He was a longtime member of the Shriners and worked hard raising money for the hospitals. He was also a member of the Crystal VFW and President of the Minnesota Turf Association. Since 2006, Richard proudly worked during his retirement at another family business, Blue Ribbon Pines Disc Golf Course. He played a vital role in getting the business started and overseeing operations. He worked every day for many hours, including the day he passed away.
Richard was an incredible family man and people person. He lived every day of his life as a role model doing whatever he could for his family and for many others. He leaves behind countless people that he has touched in so many beautiful ways. He will be greatly missed.
