Richard A Johnson, 89 of New Hope, passed away on October 30, 2020. Born on October 10, 1931 in Minneapolis to Walter and Irene Johnson.
Proud retired Assistant Chief of the Minneapolis Fire Department.
Survived by loving wife of 67 years, Lois; children, Sandra (Les) Steinberg, Craig (Cindy), Thomas (Mary), Robert (Cherilyn), Juliann (Tim) Hadden; son-in-law, Thomas Gustafson; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents; daughters Mary Claire Johnson and Jacqueline Gustafson; siblings, Robert, Marilyn, and Gary.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, November 7 at 11 AM at the Church of the Ascension, 1723 Bryant Ave N, Minneapolis. Mass will be livestreamed at www.ascensionmpls.org. Covid guidelines will be followed.
Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Memorials preferred to The Church of the Ascension.
