On Monday, February 17, 2020, Richard “Dick” Hargarten, loving husband and father of four children, passed away at the age of 92.

Dick was born on May 6, 1927 in Minneapolis, MN to Fred and Mary (Paulos) Hargarten. He joined the Navy to help his Country during World War II. When he returned from the South Pacific he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and then went on to a long career as a Supply Chain Executive at the Toro Company where he worked for 44 years.  On February 18, 1950 he married the love of his life Ms. Mary Alice Juettner and together they raised four children.  Dick and Mary Alice now also have five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.  Dick was passionate about the work he did at the Toro Company, spending time with his family and having the most amazing lawn on the block – he was after all a Toro guy.  In his later years, he most enjoyed hanging out with Mary Alice and reading great books from the Hennepin County Public Library.  Dick was preceded in death by his father Fred Hargarten and his mother Mary (Paulus) Hargarten. He is survived by wife Mary Alice; sons Daniel, Patrick, and Michael Hargarten; daughter Peggy (Ron) Steinert; Grandchildren Stephanie (Steve), Jamison (Mahsa), Jonathan (Jerusha), Joseph (Kelsey), Steven (Melissa) and great grandchildren Lucas, Nicholas, Shaun, Aiden, Gloriella, Elisanna, Calvin, Jackson, Sloane, Roslyn, Carter and Tori.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Thursday, February 20 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, 155 County Road 24, Medina.  Visitation Thursday at church one hour before Mass.  Private interment.
