Loftus, Richard (Dick) Thomas, age 86, passed away peacefully with his children at his side on August 5, 2024. 

Dick was born September 14, 1937 in Omaha, Nebraska. Dick proudly served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea. He married the love of his life, Janice, on August 10, 1963. He was forever a doting husband and continued to kiss his wife’s picture every day after her passing. They are now together again, dancing cheek to cheek, until The Twelfth of Never. Dick will be remembered for his devotion to family, Irish spirit, connoisseur of ice cream, love of sports, and playful sense of humor. 

Dick is survived by his daughter, Laura (Joe) Kuehmichel; son, Tom (Michelle); grandchildren: Hannah, Josh (MacKenzie), Kallie, Evan; sisters: Sherlyn Ann, Carolyn; many other loving family members. Dick is preceded in death by his wife, Janice; parents: Tom and Marcella, birth mother, Frances, who passed away when he was young. 

A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 5-7 PM at Gearty-Delmore Funeral Chapel, 3960 Wooddale Ave S. in St. Louis Park. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 14 at 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5900 W. Lake St. in St. Louis Park. Interment to follow at Lakewood Cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis. 

Please join us after the burial for a luncheon in Lakewood's Garden Mausoleum. 

Memorials preferred to N.C. Little Hospice, 7019 Lynmar Rd., Edina, MN 55435, who took loving care of Dick and his family during his final days.
