Richard "Dick" Balkus

Richard “Dick” Balkus, age 80 of Fridley, passed away 11/30/2021. Preceded in death by parents, John and Edith Balkus.

Survived by wife, Nadene; daughters, Jody (Ryan) Farr and Brenna Balkus; grandson Ryken Farr; other relatives, and lots of friends.

Dick was passionate about music, serving as a church organist from the age of 13, and serving the Robbinsdale School District 281 as a music teacher for 30+ years.

And special thanks to Dad's friends at the Columbus Zoo and Arthur the Armadillo, who helped him make so many treasured memories and whose continued friendship made Dad smile even on the hardest of days.

Memorial Service Saturday, 12/18/21, 1 PM at Elim Lutheran Church, 3978 W Broadway Ave, Robbinsdale with visitation one hour prior. Memorials in Dick’s name preferred to the Masonic Cancer Center and/or the Elim Lutheran Church Music Program.

He was loved by many, and will be missed by all.
