Reuel Alvin Nygaard

Reuel A. Nygaard, 79, of Plymouth, MN died the morning of January 9 peacefully at home with his wife Mary present.   He was born March 19,1937 in Mpls, MN to Reverend Alvin and Alphild Nygaard.  He married Mary E. Lorinser on July 12,1958 and she survives him.He is also survived by his two siblings Gail Anderson of Carbondale, CO and David (Mary) of Washington DC, son Scott (Sherry) and their children Matthew (Stephanie), Nicholas (Kaitlyn), Jonathan, Aaron and Halle; son Kent (Suzee) and their children Sam and Maddy.Reuel’s parents preceded him in death, as did his son Kelly.Reuel lived with purpose in life— to love God and love others.  His faith was steadfast and he was generous with his wisdom, his time and resources as he served others.His family was the focus of his life.  His life could best be summarized by II Tim 4:7- I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the FAITH.We love you and will miss you dearly but we will honor your legacy.  We hope you enjoy your time fishing with Jesus!Services will be held on January 14 at 11 AM at Wayzata Free Church, 705 County Road 101 N, Plymouth, MN 55447.  Visitation starts at 10AM.  Private interment.In lieu of flowers gifts may be made to either the church or Friends of Africa Education ( foae.org ) an organization on which Reuel served for years.
