Randolph Anthony Mazzocchi, age 61, passed away after a sudden, brief illness on March 21 st , 2021.
Randy was born on January 14 th , 1960, to Ralph Mazzocchi and Helga (Graf-Mazzocchi) Lanier. He spent his boyhood with his parents and brother, Rudy (Caroline) Mazzocchi at the family home on Plainview Drive in Coraopolis, PA, riding dirt bikes and exploring the woods around their home. He was a member of the varsity swim team at Montour High School.
At the age of 15, he met his life-long love, Mary Beth (Sambolt) Mazzocchi and they were inseparable after that. After completing his Chemical Engineering degree at the University of Pittsburgh in May of 1981, they married. Randy’s job as an engineer took them from Texas to Massachusetts, Connecticut, Wisconsin, and finally in 2020 they set up their retirement home in Minnesota.
Randy was blessed with two amazing daughters, Mary Amanda (Zachary) Sweet; and Sara Jane (Gregory) Cebulski. They, and his grandchildren, Amara and Elsa Sweet and Ada and Lila Cebulski were the lights of his life.
Randy’s sense of honor, dry sense of humor, intellect, love of learning – and all things motorcycle are well remembered by all who knew him. He especially enjoyed many years with his Italian class at Fox Valley Technical College and the trips he took to Italy with Mary Beth and a wonderful group of friends from this class.
Randy is the first to leave our family in death and is survived by his loving immediate and extended family.
We are so grateful for the family and friends throughout his life who loved him for the individual he was and have shown such compassion for our sudden loss.
Our hearts are heavy with sadness as he was taken from us too soon, but also filled with joy that in his last moments he accepted Christ as his Savior. To God be the glory for the precious gift of Randy’s life with us and the new life he shares with the cloud of witnesses who have gone before.
A celebration of Randy’s life will be held when family and friends can safely travel and gather.
John 14:2 KJV – In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
