Rachel Weaver
Rachel Weaver, age 83, passed away on December 7, 2019.
She is survived by her son Scott (Peggy) Weaver, stepson George (Janice) Weaver, stepdaughter Donna Weaver and grandchildren Lauren, Mike, Rob and Sarah.
She was preceded in death by her husband George, her parents Eino and Helmi Junnila and her sister Katherine.
Rachel was born in Waukegan, Illinois and returned to teach at Waukegan High School after graduating from Illinois Wesleyan University. She married the love of her life, George, in 1962. Together they embarked on a journey that took them to Brussels, Belgium, where they lived for 11 years, Cairo, Egypt, where they lived for six months, their lake home in Winneconne, Wisconsin and retirement in Rockport, Texas. Her grandchildren (not the winters) drew her to Minnesota. At every stop along the way, she made lifelong friends and memories.
She loved her grandchildren, her family and friends, the Green Bay Packers, Pinot Grigio and traveling the world (in that order, unless it was the playoffs).
Family and friends are invited to share in the services honoring Rachel’s life on December 20, 2019 at 1 PM at St. Barnabas Lutheran Church at 15600 Old Rockford Rd., Plymouth Minnesota, 55446.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Barnabas Lutheran Church.
