Rachel Elliott

Rachel Ann Lloyd Elliott, born 5-14-1927, lived a life of love and service.  She enjoyed young children in her work as a preschool director/teacher, and after retirement spent many hours as a volunteer for her church.  Though she was a Kare11 Eleven Who Care recipient in 2007, she never wished to be recognized for her work.  Her years of service came to an end on 6-5-2016 when she passed peacefully away, her daughters at her side.  She is preceded in death by her husband Donald, daughter Linda, and an infant daughter.  She is survived by her son Mark (Dana), daughters Lisa (Tony) and Leslie (Rich), grandchildren Matt, Julie, Drew, Sean, Faith, Ryan, and Travis, and great grandchildren Whitten, Elliott Joy, and a little one due in September.  Private graveside burial service.  Memorial Service Friday, June 10,  11:00am at Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church, 511 Groveland Ave., Mpls.  Memorial gifts preferred to Community Meals at Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church.

Only after learning Kare11 would donate money to the Community Meals program she ran for many years did she agree to be nominated for the award.
