Peter Biorn Strommen, age 50, of Excelsior, Minnesota took his final flight home to be with our Lord and Savior. Peter was born in Northfield, Minnesota on April 11, 1968 to Judith (Bernie) Strommen and Peter Krusa and lovingly adopted by Eric Strommen in 1972. He died on July 10, 2018 of a heart attack while biking in Colorado.
Peter is preceded in death by his birth father, Peter Krusa. He is survived by his soulmate and wife Pamela (Larson) Strommen, his three beautiful children, Ian (22), Sara (21) and TJ (16), mother Judith (Bernie) Strommen, father Eric Biorn Strommen, brothers, Jack “Jay” (Heather) Strommen and Michael (Erin) Strommen, half-sisters Jennifer (Krusa) Downing, Ashley (Krusa) LeVesque and all of his beloved nieces and nephews who loved their “Uncle PB.”
Peter graduated from Edina High School in 1986 and received a degree in Communications from the University of Minnesota in 1991. He was a proud brother of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
Peter met Pamela, the love of his life, in 1993 and proposed within 2 months of meeting her. “When you know, you know,” he said, smiling from ear to ear. Grateful to God for His divine grace, they were married February 26, 1994.
Peter had recently retired from Process Displays (PD) where he worked for 26 years alongside his beloved grandfather, Jack Bernie, and his two younger brothers. Peter loved his PD family and was excited about his newly relaxed lifestyle. He had plans for teaching flying lessons, spending quality time with his wife and children, and had even picked up cycling as a new hobby.
Peter was known for being kindhearted and level headed. He had a gentle spirit and soft smile that made everyone around him feel at ease. A devoted father, he was committed to modeling his faith and living the family mission of “growing to be contributing adults, living with integrity, while loving God and others.”
At the age of 13, Gramps treated Pete and his brother Jay to a fly-in fishing weekend in Canada which sparked his love of aviation. He received his private pilot certificate at the age of 17 and recently, with his newfound free time, volunteered with Angel Flight, a company transporting families in need. He enjoyed air shows, reading books on business, family trips to Naples, FL, RC planes, and anything that had a motor and moved. Peter was a Deacon at Christ Presbyterian Church and an active member of the faith community.
