Pauline Elder, a
ge 90, formerly of Duluth, passed away on June 11 in Golden Valley.
Pauline was born in Tower, MN and spent most of her life in Duluth. Pauline was a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker extraordinaire as well as a skilled seamstress, gardener and baker. Her passion for fishing was instilled early on Lake Vermillion and continued throughout her life. She also enjoyed spending time on the Lakewalk in Duluth, admiring the beauty of Duluth and Lake Superior. She was very proud of her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She moved to Golden Valley six years ago, which enabled her to become an even bigger parts of their lives.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, John; her mother, Myrtle Coutier; her father, Kenneth Coutier; and her sisters, Jean Carlson and Marjorie Petsco.
She is survived by her daughters, Liz Elder (Rob Pope) and Jane Naughtin (Tom); her grandchildren, Jen Richardson (Nick), John Naughtin (Anne), Drew Pope and Alex Pope; and her great-grandchildren, Lauren Richardson, Ethan Richardson and Samuel Naughtin.
The family would like to thank her special caregivers, Lucy and Helen, for their loving care over the last six years.
Memorials preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association or Glen Avon Presbyterian Church (Duluth).
