95, a beloved figure in the Minneapolis area, sadly left our world on April 21, 2025, after a life richly lived in service and kindness. As a dedicated dentist for nearly 30 years in New Hope, Minnesota, a former Saint Therese (Woodlake) resident, a friend to many, and a man of deep faith, he generously touched the lives of all who needed assistance of any kind.
He loved music (especially playing the piano), and always had a story, often about his small hometown of Holdingford, Minnesota, and some banter to share with everyone he met, usually delivered with the dry humor for which he was known.
He became a husband and father later in life. When not at work, he enjoyed his time on the golf course, on the water of Lake Minnetonka, on the slopes while downhill skiing, and helping others whenever possible. He was never idle, and even on the golf course, while puffing on a cigar, he would search for lost golf balls simply for the pleasure of giving them away to others. He was also a beloved uncle, brother-in-law, and a master of the knowledge and many skills he learned about through reading and hard work.
He truly loved every aspect of his life, and frequently let others know that “I’ve had the best life ever and wouldn’t change a thing.”
Paul is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Wrobel, his parents, Mary and Frank Wrobel, and his sisters, brothers, and brothers-in-law. He is survived by his children, Cindy Theis, Tom Theis, and Mark Theis (Wan Suwandi); his brother, Don Wrobel, and his nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law. His memory and legacy will also live on through his many friends and former patients.
A Funeral Mass and a celebration of life will be held at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 7301 Bass Lake Road, Crystal on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Visitation will be at 12Noon and Mass at 1:00pm, followed by a social gathering. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vail Place (www.vailcommunities.org), 15 9th Ave. S., Hopkins, Minnesota 55343.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Aurora on France in Edina and the Park Nicollet Hospice teams for their dedication and compassionate care shown to Dad.
We will forever cherish our memories of Paul, and know that his kindness will forever stay with, and set an example for, those he helped and loved.
