Paul Charles Tolkkinen
Paul Charles Tolkkinen, 85, formerly of Plymouth, passed away on Monday, Feb. 3, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. He was born May 24, 1934, in Minneapolis to August and Ellen Tolkkinen. He graduated from North High School and Dunwoody Technical Institute. He married Anita Louise Wisuri on Oct. 22, 1960. Paul worked as a tool-and-dye maker for various companies, including Honeywell. Side ventures included clock repair and selling antiques. He enjoyed tennis and swimming, battling squirrels at the bird feeder, Charlie Brown comics, World War II history, and crossword puzzles. Diagnosed with diabetes at 19, he took care of his health assiduously. He was preceded in death by parents; wife, Anita; infant unnamed son; son, John Tolkkinen; daughter, Barbara Tolkkinen; siblings Dorothy, Kathryn and Edwin. He leaves behind children David Tolkkinen; Jeanne (Lance) Karvonen; Edward (Yvonne) Tolkkinen; Karen Tolkkinen (Miles Nelson); 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; brother William; and many nieces and nephews. Paul was a member of the Elk River Laestadian Lutheran Church.
