Patsy Ruth Noyes

Patsy (Pat) Noyes, 89, of St. Louis Park passed away on September 18, 2020. She was born on December 16, 1930, to Leon and Mabel Hier of Springfield MN.

A pure soul, Pat was devoted to her family, friends, and her church. She attended Springfield High School and the Minnesota Business College. She married Jerold (Jerry) Noyes on July 5, 1952.  They  eventually settled in St Louis Park where they raised their family. Pat worked in a variety of departments within the St. Louis Park school district. She was an active member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She loved music and sang in the church choir. Her house rules allowed you to skip church only in the event of active vomiting, high fever, or death (yours).

Pat was very active in her children’s lives.  She was the assistant-leader of her daughter Wendy’s Camp Fire Girl group for years. She  loved leading the group in song and was an expert at removing fudgesicles that were so cold they stuck to someone’s tongue. She never missed an opportunity to cheer on her son Jim at his sporting events.  She especially loved his baseball games. Pat loved being a mom, not just to her kids, but to anyone in need of a spare.  Everyone was welcome to be an honorary family member.

Pat believed in being nice to people. Her philosophy was, “if you don’t have something nice to say don’t say anything.” She was a voracious reader, played the piano and, as a left-hander, refused to let anyone else in the family use her good scissors lest they mess up the alignment.

She was best friends with her sisters Midge, Molly and Helen.  When the four of them were together laughter (to the point of tears) and song were sure to follow. She was devoted to her friends and always willing to help them in any way she could.

She loved to laugh.

She is preceded in death by her infant son David and her two beloved sisters, Midge and Molly.

She was sure in her faith and did not fear death.  We know she’s singing soprano in the heavenly choir, holding her son David, laughing and singing with her sisters, and mothering everyone in heaven.

Survived by her husband of 68 years, Jerold Noyes; her children Wendy Noyes Countryman (Thomas) and James Noyes (Kris);   grandchildren Joshua Countryman (Amy), April Taylor (Anthony), Dania Noyes; great-grandchildren, William, Andrew, Ethan, Marin, Asher, Gracie, Isobel; sister Helen Pedersen.

Funeral service to be held Wednesday, October 28, 10AM at the Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery to follow.
