Patricia Arachtingi, born 5/3/1934 in New York City, died peacefully at her home in Plymouth, MN surrounded by her children on 10/22/2022.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, M. James; her parents, Packy Grant, and Mary and Jack Bradley.  She is survived by her sister, Dolly Kadian; her children, Jim (Judy), Mike (Monica), Tom (Cathy), Patti (John Shrake), John (Cheryl), Bill (Barrie), Bob (Tammy); 21 grand and 23 great grandchildren with more 2 on the way.

Pat was 100% Irish, raised by her grandparents, Tom Ryan and Ellen Harkin Ryan, who hailed from Donegal, Ireland, after her father died young. From the age of 2 she was surrounded by uncles and aunts as her widowed-mother spent her days working. She was a wonderful woman who was widowed herself at the age of 43, with seven young children.  She volunteered at St. Mary's parish school in Manhasset, Long Island, NY, then ran her own business in New Hope, MN, managed rental properties and raised her children until they were grown and gone.  She sold her business and worked many years in the Plymouth school district. When she retired she devoted her life to serving the Lord in many roles at Holy Name of Jesus parish in Wayzata. She started parish support groups for widows, was a daily communicant, a sacristan, a Befriender, and visited nursing homes as part of the parish's pastoral ministry to the sick and dying.

She was always ready with a loving hug, a beautiful smile and a hearty laugh for every family gathering. In true Irish fashion she seemed to find a story or experience that fit with any situation.  She loved her grandchildren and for years she made comfy, warm fleece blankets as gifts for all 21 of them. Pat’s New York Irish brogue never left her, nor her joyful optimistic outlook on life.  She was a courageous woman and will be missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
