Nicklas Gustaf Olson, age 28, died unexpectedly at home on Friday, December 13.
Nick was born December 28, 1990 to David and Carolyn Olson and is a graduate of Hopkins High School (class of ‘09) and the University of Iowa (class of ‘13) with a degree in Communications. He was also a member and social chair of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. After Iowa, Nick moved to Chicago to pursue his business interests in sales positions at companies including Groupon, Illinois Manufacturers’ Association and Robert Half. Returning to Minneapolis in 2017, he became a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Burnet where he thoroughly enjoyed working closely with his mother, also an agent with the same brokerage. Nick loved Minnesota sports, spending time with friends and family, and traveling. He was an avid hockey player where he made many of his friends growing up. His smile was bright, he had a great sense of humor, was a loyal friend and was loved by all those around him.
Nick is preceded in death by his father David Olson, paternal grandparents Barbara and Glenn Olson, and maternal grandmother Tish Healey.
He is survived by mother Carolyn Olson, brother Erik, sister-in-law Brittany, grandfather Ted Healey, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church 5025 Knox Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55419. Reception to follow at the Calhoun Beach Club, 2925 Dean Parkway, Mpls 55416.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Olson Family Foundation, P.O. Box 1037, Minnetonka, MN 55345.
