It is with deep sorrow and tremendous love that we mourn the passing of Neil McLaughlin of St. Louis Park on December 23, 2021. Neil was 78 years old.
Neil will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joanne; children, Brendan and Sarah (Kurt); grandson, Kellan; brothers, Paddy and John; sisters, Margaret and Bridie; numerous extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Margaret; brother, Mickey; sisters, Ann and Cathy.
Neil was born and raised in County Donegal, Ireland, and lived in London, England and Rochester, New York before settling in Minnesota. He was an accomplished auto mechanic with a specialty in Rolls Royce and German auto repair.
Neil was an avid reader and loving nothing more than discussing world affairs or sharing stories, as only an Irishman can do. He showed care and respect for all he met, and his love of nature, animals and exploring will continue to live on through his children and grandchildren. Neil loved family road trips to explore 48 of the 50 states. He had a passion for learning from other cultures and making new friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Friday, January 7 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 145 Jersey Ave S., Golden Valley, with visitation one hour prior to Mass.
Memorial donations may be made to PRISM, 1220 Zane Ave N., Golden Valley, MN 55422, Health Partners Hospice and Palliative Care , 8170 33rd Ave S., Bloomington, MN 55425, or to the donor's choice.
Family requests that masks be worn.
