Nadyne Schiebe Balke
Aug. 16, 1936-Jan 9, 2024
Nadyne left this world to be with her beloved husband Maurie due to complications resulting from several strokes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Marguerite (Bock) Schiebe, and her brothers, Frank and Jerry. She lost Maurie in 1996. Married in 1959, they lived in Golden Valley MN, Kansas City MO, and Grand Rapids MI before returning to the Twin Cities in 1982. They never lost touch with friends who became family.
Nadyne is survived by brother, Richard (Tina) Schiebe, and sisters-in-law, Margaret Schiebe, Mary Margaret Timmerman, and Theodora Balke. Sons, Mike (Mary), Tom (Debbie), Tim (Connie) and daughters, Marilee (Larry) Fisher and Kristen (Tim) LeRoux. Her cherished grandchildren, Nick (Lorena) Fisher, Kelly Fisher, Brian (Sara) Balke, Ben (Rachel) Balke, Ann Balke, Joe (Haley) Sheeser, Amy LeRoux, TJ Balke and Sam Balke and great-grandchildren, Thomas and Mica Fisher, Charlotte, Sophia and Mason Balke, Milena and Jonah Sheeser. Nadyne had many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly. Nothing pleased her more than large family gatherings, like her annual Christmas Eve hors d'oeuvre buffet or Christmas in July in Wisconsin Dells.
Born in Plymouth, MN to one of the city’s founding families, Nadyne was a proud graduate of Wayzata High School and the University of MN earning her degree in Education. She lived her vocation daily whether it be with family or students at many different schools. Nadyne’s students remember the U of MN’s Rouser, her Catholic Schools Week cartwheels and her interesting and unforgettable science experiments. Nadyne was also a life-long learner taking graduate school courses at Michigan State University and then at the University of St. Thomas when they relocated back to MN.
Nadyne lived her Catholic faith through daily communion, praying the rosary, teaching religious education classes, and volunteering to help those less fortunate.
The family would like to thank Amy Reilly, who helped Mom kindly and gently through her final life cycle. The hole in our hearts will never be filled, but we take great comfort in knowing that she is at peace and with our Dad.
The funeral mass to honor Nadyne will be 11 AM, Thur., Jan. 18, 2024, with a visitation one hour prior to Mass at The Church of St. Gerard, 9600 Regent Ave. N., Brooklyn Park, MN.
