Michelle Marie Keller

Michelle Marie Keller (Carigiet) age 65, passed away peacefully with her family by her side in the early morning hours of May 3rd, 2023. Michelle suffered a cardiac arrest on her way to the hospital on April 15th and fought hard during her 19-day hospital stay at Abbott Northwestern, but her body was unable to overcome her illness.

Michelle was born on April 19th, 1958 in St Paul, MN to Joseph and Elizabeth Carigiet (LaValle). She grew up attending Catholic school in St Paul with her 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She met and married the love of her life, Paul, on September 19th, 1981. They built a home in Plymouth, MN where she raised her family and has lived ever since.

Michelle lived her life to care for others. She took extra good care of her husband, Paul, making sure he always had clean sweatpants, haircut appointments and a delicious meal on the table. She gave selflessly to her children often talking to them on the phone multiple times a day helping solve life’s problems, offering advice or just to chat. Michelle adored her grandchildren and nothing made her happier than to spoil them. She would spend months shopping for gifts and planning out meals for the next holiday or birthday party. She made it her mission to attend as many baseball games, choir concerts, dance recitals and any other school activities as possible.

Michelle did not care for just her family. She did home day care for many years and then went back to school to obtain her Associates Degree in Nursing. Michelle had a strong connection with her WestHealth Urgent Care family where she practiced as a nurse during the first half of her career. She spent the last 15 years as a GI nurse working at Minnesota Gastroenterology, where she ended her career in 2022 due to health issues.

Michelle was a strong woman and did not give up no matter what the challenge. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making meals for her family. She loved warm weather so looked forward to planning annual winter trips on the beach with her husband and summer vacations with her family in Park Rapids. She had a great sense of humor and shared lots of laughs with her close-knit Harbor Lane card club and bowling league friends. She had a strong faith in God and attended mass at St Joseph’s Catholic Church on Saturday afternoons.

Michelle is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 42 years, Paul Keller, three dear children: Tricia Hendricks, Michael (Jena) Keller, and Joseph Keller, and adoring grandchildren: Charlie, Aubrianna, Lucas, Paige, and Wilson. She is also survived by her younger sister Kristine Murphy and a large extended family including in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many close friends.

Michelle is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Elizabeth Carigiet, older brothers: Richard Carigiet, Kenneth Carigiet, and Tim Carigiet and sister: Tammy Gatzow.

Michelle was very loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
