Michael Shaun Ryan, the man who rode through life on his Harley, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 6th, 2024, surrounded by family and friends leaving behind a trail of laughter, memories, and tall tales not soon to be forgotten. Born on March 11th, 1940, he navigated life with a mix of faith, sobriety, and a healthy dose of brutal honesty. Mike was well known for unapologetically telling it like it was or how he believed it was.
A devout Catholic, Michael's faith could move mountains. He made his excitement known about the day he would get to meet Jesus Christ! With over 40 years of sobriety under his belt, he was a beacon of hope for those in need. He always had a story to share about everything. He could fire up a room with his entrance and the anticipation of what exaggerated story you might get to hear next, maybe for the third or fourth time!
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Michael is survived by his cherished children, Shannon Ryan (Steve), Shaun T. Ryan (Jennifer), Michelle Mallinger (Joseph), and Tracy Poling (Jeremy); his life partner Ingrid Veeck and her children Patty Borer (Dan), Tracy Pajunen (Tom), and Cory Veeck (Becky). Mike was also survived by his 15 grandchildren; Burgandy, Arieanna, Jessica, Cassie, Kaiden, Jacob, Anthony, Justyn, Drew, Nevaeh, Allison, Collin, Julianna, Conner, and Jersey; and two great-grandchildren Ryker and Saffron.
Mike's legacy spans generations like tire tracks on Route 66. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will forever cherish his stories of Harley escapades, twisted sense of humor, and that unique brand of Irish stubbornness. We were all blessed with the "Luck of the Irish" to have known Mike Ryan! Let's send him off with the roar of engines and the laughter he loved so much. Join us on Wednesday, May 15th, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4087 West Broadway Ave, Robbinsdale, MN 55422. Visitation will begin at 10 am, followed by a funeral service at 11 am.
