Michael David Ricker was born April 10, 1980 to David Ricker and Susan Wojcik in Crystal, MN. As a boy he spent his time with his siblings Ben and Theresa, he played soccer and baseball and was in both Cub Scouts and later Boy Scouts. Mike starting playing trumpet in 5th grade and later learned multiple other instruments. He was also a very talented singer and participated in choir and a few musicals in high school. Mike enjoyed watching baseball, football, and hockey- especially the MN Gophers. He was exceptional at math and attended a program at the U of MN for talented math students. He later attended the University of Minnesota for college where he was a member of the marching band and met his beautiful wife Rebecca (May). They spent most of their married life in Alaska which was a dream of Mike's. Mike loved spending time outdoors hiking, kayaking, and fishing. He also loved spending time with his family. He was a devoted father to his three kids: Violet (17), Calvin (16) and Linus (6). Mike spent his days working as an actuary for the state of Alaska doing insurance analysis while his wife Rebecca taught elementary music. Mike was a devoted Catholic and his faith never waivered throughout his long battle with Melanoma. Mike died at home surrounded by family on 11/29/24.

We would like to create a memory book for Mike's kids. If you would like to share a story about him or a favorite memory those can be emailed to Theresa Ricker or brought with to the funeral mass. If you have a favorite picture of Mike feel free to include that as well. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 13, 2024 at 11 am at St. Joseph Catholic Community, 8701 36th Ave N, New Hope, MN 55427 with a visitation one hour prior. Placement of ashes in the Columbarium at the St. Joseph Little Church in Plymouth, MN to follow.
