Michael John Gaspar

Michael John Gaspar, 78, lost his battle against cancer and died peacefully at his home in Plymouth, MN on July 10. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 53 years of marriage, Gloria Jean Gaspar and five children Jeff (Karen), Todd (Tracy), Keith (Pam), Marshelle (Steve) and Troy (Jennifer), 10 grandchildren, one great grandchild, siblings Marcus, Lois, Ellen, Ken and Kathleen and many friends. Preceded in death by his mother Mary, father John, son Kurt, sisters and brothers.

Born and raised in Bridgewater, SD from 1938-1961 Mike served two years in the army then moved to St. Paul, MN and began working for Capital Gear. In 1974 moved to Owatonna, MN working at Vonruden Manufacturing until 1984 when he moved to Plymouth, MN and has spent the past 13 years working at Quality Machine.

Mike loved camping with family and friends; he was a campground manager at the Minnesota State Fair for many years and in 2010 won an award for most valuable employee. Mike and Gloria enjoyed dressing up as Mr. & Mrs. Claus for many events and hosting light tours from their motor home during the Christmas season. Mike also liked fishing and these past few years enjoyed an annual family fishing trip with all his children each spring.

A special thank you to Amy, Sheri, Kathy, Darlene, Elizabeth and all the beautiful people at Hennepin County Hospice for all their loving support during this difficult time.

Memorial Mass Thursday, July 14, 2016 11 am at St. Joseph Parish Center,  8701 36th Ave North, New Hope, MN 55427 with visitation starting at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
